How To Choose Positivity (Even When It's Hard)

The average person has an estimated 70,000 thoughts per day! Take a moment to think about the thoughts that run through your mind. Are they positive and uplifting? “Today is going to be an amazing day!” Or negative and self-defeating? “I don’t have the energy to get through today.”

Choose to shift your thinking away from old patterns about weight loss/dieting/body image. I know you'll think I'm crazy, but you have to keep a good attitude about your choices. Say kind things to yourself. When thoughts come up like, "This doesn't work for me," "I will never lose weight this way," "I just can't eat ___," "I have the hardest time losing weight," etc, they will literally make this process even longer for you. For reals.

Focus on what is going well. You have more energy. You're sleeping better. You are eating foods that are nourishing and making you feel your best. You are eating healthy, clean, lean foods because you want to take care of your body. You are balancing your meals with healthy grains, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. These are the thoughts to remind yourself about, not "I'm trying to lose weight and nothing is working."

Then, consider what, in your life, you "get to do" instead of what you "have to do." This really works. It takes practice. You are choosing to make these moves to take better care of your body and mind, and are fortunate to be able to do so. Anything that really doesn't line up with a "get to" feeling, needs to be re-evaluated.
